| Would you raise taxes? |
I have taken several pledges to groups stating that I will not vote for any bill that will raise taxes on the people or businesses of Wisconsin. If elected, I will go to Madison and fight to ensure our budget deficit is reduced by spending cuts only. Any raise in taxes will only support our States irresponsible spending habits. Some big cuts need to happen and we are all going to feel it in some way or another. I want to be up front and honest about this fact. Our irresponsible spending has dug a pretty deep hole. Just like an average citizen who overspent with a credit card, Wisconsin needs to adhere to a strict budget for a while. We need to get back in the black. Once we are there, Wisconsin can decide if they want to raise State spending again or start reducing taxes on citizens and businesses.
