"The Message"I WILL VOTE NO ON ANY BILL
THAT WILL INCREASE THE SIZE, COST,
REACH AND POWER OF THE GOVERNMENT!
|
| The above message isn't something new and I didn't think of it myself. This same message is being spoken by several people across America who have decided it is time for the average citizen to step up and give voters a chance to vote based on principle instead of the choosing between the lesser of two evils. They are tired of the irresponsibility, corruption and lack of concern displayed by career politicians who have forgotten that they are appointed public servants and not anointed aristocrats. I am proud to be one of many people running for office with this simple yet powerful message. |
"No means No"
I will read every Bill carefully. If there is a term I don't understand, I will look it up. If there is a line item too complicated, I will seek resources who can explain it fully to me. Once I have a complete understanding of the bill I will ask a simple question, "Will this increase the size, cost, reach or power of the Government?". If it does, I will vote no. It is just that simple. |

I will vote no on any bill that will increase the size of the Government.
Times are tough for everyone these days. Corporations have been enacting cost cutting measures. Small Businesses are doing what they need to do just to stay afloat. Families are tightening their budgets in order to make ends meet. The only place money seems to be growing on trees is in our Government. Our Government is developing all kinds of new programs to help the people out. The only question is "Where is the money coming from?". Our State Legislators claim that these programs will be paid for by the likes of Federal Funding and Grants. I have two problems with Wisconsin begging the Federal Government for hand outs. First, not a single penny is ever given out without some kind of requirement or demand of compliance. Second, the money we are begging for is funded by our tax dollars in the first place (as well as borrowing from foreign lenders or just plain printing of money). Basically, the Federal Government is Taxing the Residents of Wisconsin, making us beg for a portion of it back and then only agreeing to give it to us if we do as they say. Wisconsin should be fighting to keep more tax dollars in the State and in the bank accounts of it's Residents. |

I will vote no on any bill that will increase the cost of the Government.
We are all we aware that there is a major push for the KRM Line. Supporters for the KRM claim all kinds of predictions about jobs, saving the environment, decreasing commuter road traffic and new revenue. The problem is that all of these predictions fall completely irrelevant to one simple fact. We just don't have the money. The 2010 State budget already has a 2.6 Billion dollar deficit. Adding this enormously expensive project will add even more to this deficit no matter how much Federal Funding (our tax money) is obtained. This will only create a need for tax increases and/or new taxes in order to maintain and operate a huge piece of permanent infrastructure. Tax Payers simply cannot afford the KRM and if elected I will oppose it. |

I will vote no on any bill that will increase the reach of the Government.
On July 5th, 2010, the Statewide Smoking Ban went into effect. Kenosha had a referendum in 2008 and the majority of voters made it clear they didn't want the Smoking Ban. Yet, the State felt the need to ignore the voice of Kenoshans and enact the Ban Statewide. This is not a matter that should concern the State in the first place. Issues such as Smoking Bans should be decided at the local level. |

I will vote no on any bill that will increase the power of the Government.
On June 30th, 2009, Wisconsin put a mandatory seat belt law into effect. While most people agree that seat belts do save lives and the majority of people wear them; this isn't something that needs to be enforced by a fine. If a person makes the decision not to wear his or her seatbelt, how does this propose a danger to anyone but themselves? This Law serves no purpose for citizens, but it does propose an opportunity for Law Enforcement to stop a driver and issue a ticket resulting in a fine. How many more Laws are in the works that will criminalize citizens for committing victimless crimes in the name of individual safety? Our Law Enforcement should be used to protect us from criminals, not protect us from ourselves. If a bill is handed to me that promotes individual safety through a new law, I will not support it. |
